this is from several years back when I just started getting back into drawing. It began as a self portrait, not sure where it went from there. I don't look like this anymore..
hey, I know how that feels.... getting back into something after too much time passed by. Well, you did it cool, i shell say... more than enything, it is sympathetic... nice!
Those eyes pull me into the piece with such a subtle force, and exude such a quiet feeling of depth and assurance...
My eyes seem to then follow the flow of the hair and what appears to be a that cut or wound- from the eyes inward to the lips and chin area, and then up to the nose leading towards the eyes again. It's a very interesting effect.
The manner in which the verticality of the piece interacts with the horizontal plane of the eyes is entrancing. This effect seems heightened by the tiled background.
I think that the hair (or shadows?) running diagonal in the lower left corner is a little odd.
I used to think that Lucian Freud's self portraits were the most interesting I'd ever seen, but now I'm not so sure.
i like this..you give yourself a very....damn..on the tip of my tongue...GELFLING!!..that's who yaaaa..*nods*..you give yourself a very gelfling-esque appearance...*nods matter of fact like*..ya i really like this..
...oh..you've seen dark crystal right?..

This is a beautiful drawing..I can just imagine 20 of these on the walls of a white gallery space, framed, and for sale. Just think, a whole wall of self portraits over and over again using a multiple of materials....Wonderful, I love your stuff. This one will be added to one of my DEVPACKs - I include the most important of drawings and paintings - to me anyway.

Boldly they rode and well
